Privacy policy

Armidale Film Society is a volunteer-run film society in Armidale, NSW. This page explains what personal information we collect when you join, what we do with it, and how to ask us about it. Last updated October 2026.

What we collect

When you buy a membership we collect your name, email address, phone number and postal address. For a Membership for Two we also collect the second member's name and email address. You can contact us by email at any time, in which case we keep your message and email address so we can reply.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

How we use it

We use your information to set up and manage your membership, send receipts, tell you about RSVPs and screenings, check names at the door for each screening, and keep within our membership cap. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the society. Stripe processes payments and holds your subscription and contact details, and Vercel hosts this website and may log technical details such as IP addresses. These providers may store data outside Australia. We only disclose your information to anyone else if the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies, and our fonts are served from our own site. Stripe may set its own cookies while you're on its checkout page, under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your details while you're a member and for as long afterwards as we need them for our records, such as financial reporting. After that we delete them or remove anything that identifies you.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted by emailing hello@armidalefilmsociety.com.au. You can cancel your membership at any time through the customer portal. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll try to fix it.
