About
Armidale Film Society is a volunteer-run film society bringing a series of films to the region each year.
Regional life in Armidale can sometimes feel one step removed from the wider world.
Films are an exception: the same film plays here as it does anywhere else, and unlike most of the culture that reaches us—smaller names in smaller venues—film maintains its force. Scorsese can come to Armidale.
A shared love of film gives strangers something in common, making it a foundation to build community.
Armidale Film Society is a volunteer-run film society, screening six superb films, on six beautiful Armidale evenings, for people who love film and want to meet others who do too.
Screenings
Films are screened at The Playhouse Theatre. 309 Beardy Street (corner of Ohio Street), Armidale NSW 2350.
Select food and beverages will be available at screenings, with doors opening well before the lights go down, to provide opportunities to meet other members, and (if it comes up) talk about the movie.
